Monica's Recipe of the Month #2: Lemony & Berry Mascarpone Tart


For hot days, small gatherings, or when you're craving something sweet with your morning coffee, this Lemony & Berry Mascarpone Tart is a must!

This tart is simple to make, loaded with all the fresh fruit, and packs a citrusy punch. So let's get started.



  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter.
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


  • 1lb mascarpone cheese (1 tub)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 juice of a lemon
  • 1-2 tsp lemon zest 
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries to your liking!

How To Make The Tart:

  1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Prepare the pie crust by combining the flour and salt in a bowl; mix. In a separate bowl, using a mixer, cream together the butter and powdered sugar. Make sure it is nice and fluffy with no lumps before mixing in the vanilla. 
  3. Slowly add in the flour until the dough forms. Do not over-mix. Use your hands to shape it into a dough ball, then wrap it with plastic wrap, and put it in the refrigerator for thirty minutes to cool.
  4. Once your crust is ready, grease up a 9in tart pan and gently press the dough with your hands and up the pan's sides. (Really get into the tart pan grooves to ensure you get the tart shape). If any dough starts to spill over, you can cut it off to make it nice and even.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Remove from the oven, and set to cool completely.
  6. Make your filling by combining all the ingredients in a bowl. Make sure there are no lumps. You do not need a mixer; you can mix by hand.
  7. Once your crust has cooled completely, add your filling and top with whatever berries you'd like. We recommend strawberries, blueberries, or blackberries. You are welcome to grate more lemon zest if you wish or sprinkle powdered sugar on top!
  8. Enjoy! It can be stored in your refrigerator for up to three days- if it's not gone already.
